vinvolved projects for December 2009 will include:

Sat 5th : Feeders for sale
We are selling all of the bird feeders we made in November at a charity Christmas fair in Winchester, with proceeds going towards our charity allotment. This is a great project for those of you interested in retail!
Lunch will be provided

Sun 6th : Hedge planting
Working in Priors Hill Copse in Netley Abbey, we will be planting hedges along the side of the woodlands to protect the natural beauty of the area. Perfect for those of you who like to get your hands dirty!
Lunch will be provided

Tue 15th : Operation Smile
Harrah, t-shirt painting! We will be making hospital gowns out of t-shirts as part of "Operation Smile". Decorating the t-shirts in any way you want, they will be donated for children to wear during facial reconstructive surgery.
Lunch will NOT be provided

Meeting a Dragon

Solent Youth Action volunteers met with Dragons' Den star James Caan at v online awards scheme launch at Kings' Place in London.

Mr Caan told Metro: "There is a real need for employers to understand the full extent of skills young people gain through volunteering.

The event was a great chance for young volunteers from around the country to share their experiences with a variety of business representatives, promoting the positive impact of volunteering within the work place.

FoneAid campaign

We are taking part in the FoneAid mobile recycling campaign and will take any mobile phone, in any condition, off your hands. By donating your phones, FoneAid will give us money towards our charity
