Senior Youth Support Worker: Outdoor Conservation
22 Hours contract, to include Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays: £10.50 per hour
Solent Youth Action is looking for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys the great outdoors to manage and deliver our supported youth volunteering projects across a number of sites in the south of Hampshire. These include:
- The Staunton Stars: Based at Staunton Country Park in Havant, you will support a group of young people with mild to moderate additional support needs to volunteer alongside the rangers, farm and garden team, and will manage the development of the naturalist garden area.
- ReCharge: Based at Riverside Community Learning in Eastleigh, you will help to manage the woodlands on site, supporting young people who are disengaged from school and other services to volunteer and maintain the biodiversity of the site.
- SYA Charity Allotment: Based in Southampton, you will support various groups of young people to grow maintain and harvest produce on this site.
We are looking for an individual who isn’t frightened by a bit of rain and who has experience working with young people. Your role will be to manage and directly support our various volunteer projects, and develop them as you see fit.
Experience working with vulnerable young people is necessary, and knowledge of biodiversity desirable but not essential.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS (disclosure and barring service) check and sufficient references.

Additional hours may be available on other projects within Eastleigh depending upon experience.
