The volunteering activities are conservation based, and range from board-walk building to tree felling and scrub clearance.
In-Clued provides young people the opportunity to have fun, make friends, build up confidence, gain new skills and build up their CV. SYA is an accredited Vinspired Awards provider, so all young people aged 16-25 received certificates for their volunteering.
In addition the scheme actively empowers young people to understand the benefits and the practicalities of sustainable food through our charity allotment based in Southampton.
The allotment is maintained entirely by volunteers, from planting, watering to harvesting, with all crops donated to homeless shelters and women’s refuges. We have had the pleasure of working with older volunteers at the allotment, who help to do the more complicated tasks, keeping it ticking over on a weekly basis.
All projects are group based. Group sizes can vary between 4 and 12 young people. A youth support worker is always there to ensure there is always ample support.

We are grateful to the Hedley Foundation and Southampton City Council for supporting all the wonderful work our young volunteers do.
